The answer required an entirely new movement — the Cal. 31-260 PS QL — and the result is a display unlike anything else in the Patek catalogue or anyone else's.

The in-line perpetual calendar — day, date, month reading from a single aperture — required an entirely new movement. The 5236P is a genuine horological innovation, not a dial variation. Platinum-only production ensures it remains rare long after the initial excitement fades.
