Grand feu enamel requires firing the dial at over 800°C — repeatedly — with no room for error. The 5738/51G applies that unforgiving technique to the Golden Ellipse's iconic shape, creating a black dial with a depth and lustre that lacquer and sunburst finishes can only approximate. At 5.9mm thick, it remains the thinnest watch in the Patek catalogue.
