Patek Philippe 5160/500G-001
Perpetual Calendar Case hand-engraved
Tuesday, 14 March 2017
Open the hinged officer's case and what you find inside is unlike any other perpetual calendar in the collection — or in most collections anywhere. Every surface of the 5160/500G is hand-engraved by a single artisan, making each piece effectively unique. The retrograde date hand sweeps across the dial in a wide arc before snapping back to the first of each month. It doesn't compete with the 5140P or 5270R; it exists in a different register entirely, where horology and decorative art become the same thing.
