Perpetual Calendar Chronograph

Wednesday, 8 March 2017

Forty-one millimetres of the most complex serially produced Patek calibre. The 5270R in rose gold with silvery opaline dial is the original, most classical execution of the perpetual calendar chronograph — before the salmon dials and blue registers that followed. There's something to be said for owning the version that came first.

Collector's Note

If the 5140P was the announcement, the 5270R is the proof. The CH 29-535 PS Q is the most complex serially produced Patek calibre, and owning the original rose gold execution says the collector didn't wait for a trendier dial or limited edition — they went straight to the definitive version.
